Michelle Perez-Yanez is an attorney at Gruenberg Law. She represents employees from inception through resolution in cases of unequal pay, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination. Michelle habla español y ha dedicado su carrera como abogada representado clientes en casos de discriminación, hostigamiento, reclamos de salario, tiempo y horas, y despido injustificado.
Michelle graduated cum laude from The University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English. After growing up near the border in Brownsville, Texas, Michelle moved to San Diego to attain her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law.
As a law student, Michelle created and moderated the “Solutions Summit: Eliminating Sexual Harassment in the Workplace” conjunction with Lawyers Club of San Diego. This was a sexual harassment workshop aimed to depict and address the power imbalances faced by students in intern-settings.
Michelle developed a passion for employment law and joined the Lawyers Club of San Diego Sexual Harassment Task Force. There, she participated in the creation of the “Know Your Rights: Guidelines & Resources for Sexual Harassment Victims.”
Michelle is admitted to practice in all California State Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, and is currently pending admission to the State Bar of Texas. She is also a member of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and the San Diego County Bar Association.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys hiking and reading poems by Pablo Neruda.
